Volunteers Needed for 1 Day

We have an opportunity to partner with World Changers of Florida to make Bibles available in every Orange County High School on Wednesday, February 22. We have targeted 3 local high schools where we need 3 volunteers at each from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. We want you to be a part of this potentially life-changing opportunity of making God’s Word available to thousands of students in our community. If you are interested, email Bro. Tommy at tommyhorton@fbccf.net. If you have mentored at local schools before, what an opportunity to give those students the Word! We will have training and instruction the week prior to the distribution.

Registration for our 2012 Upward Flag Football & Cheerleading season is now open!

Registration Information:	We will have Kindergarten – 7th Grade Divisions for both boys and girls. The pre-registration cost per child is $98.00; walk-on registration cost the day of Player Evaluations is $118.00. The full top and bottom uniform is included. Deadline for registration is Monday, January 16, 2012 Click here to register online as either a player or coach. If you are not registering online, please add $10.00 to the registration fee and drop off or mail to: First Baptist Central Florida 700 Good Homes Road Orlando, Florida 32818 Please make checks payable to FIRST BAPTIST CENTRAL FLORIDA and write UPWARD/(Your child’s name) in the memo section. (We are located next to Lowe’s at the 199′ tall white cross.)
Evaluations and Sign-Ups:	Everyone must attend a Player Evaluation/Orientation before participating in the league. THIS IS NOT A TRY-OUT. All players will be accepted into the league. Evaluations will take place on our campus on: Tuesday, January 17th or Thursday, January 19th between 6:15p.m. and 7:45 p.m. *Make-up evaluation date will be available for a $25.00 additional fee. Coaches and Assistant Coaches needed. To register as a coach, also click the button at the bottom of this page.
League Schedule:	The first full practice will take place the first week in February. Practices are 1 night/week and will run Tuesday or Thursday (Monday option will be added if needed) sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. First Game – Saturday morning, February 18th, 2011. All games will be on Saturday mornings or early afternoon.

“Church Planting” – Our Global Impact Celebration (GIC) focus this year! Many people will go unreached unless a church presents the Gospel in their language and culture. As church planters, we are commanded to plant the Gospel, and it is God who makes it grow. Has God given you a vision to go to a specific geographic area to plant a church for a specific unreached people?

Urgent Need for Food - In an act of compassion for the many who have expressed a need during these hard economic times, we are establishing a Food Pantry. Your help is especially needed during the holidays. Please place your non-perishable food items in the bins located in the Grace Building Lobby. As you enjoy Thanksgiving with your family, there will be many who will be thankful that you gave to their need.

Tree of Hope – The Tree of Hope is located in the Grace Building lobby and is designated for our Church members and/or prospective members. If you, or someone you know, has a need this Christmas season, please go by the TREE OF HOPE table in the Grace Building lobby to request the need of that particular person or number of persons. Requests are now being received. If you are interested in serving on the Tree of Hope project or if you have any questions, please stop by the Tree of Hope table or contact Stacie Crawley at 407.325.8780.

Wreath of Joy – Located in the Joy Building lobby and is designated for local foster children in state care. We will be ministering to the foster children through Devereux Florida, a non-profit organization that is contracted through the Department of Children and Families. Devereux Florida provides case management services to children in times of transition. If you are interested in serving on the Wreath of Joy project or if you have any questions, please contact Michelle Ferree at 407.920.6809.

Both the TREE OF HOPE (Grace Building) and the WREATH OF JOY (Joy Building) will be in place by November 22 and will be filled with “ornaments” that will list each person’s need.

Here’s How It Works:

1) Remove an “ornament/tag” from the Tree/Wreath; 2) Show the “ornament/tag” to the Tree/Wreath volunteer; 3) Purchase the gift or contribute to the need of that person listed on the “ornament/tag;” 4) Bring the gift to the volunteer at the Tree/Wreath table. That’s it!

All gifts are to be brought to either the TREE OF HOPE table or the WREATH OF JOY table by Sunday, December 18 for distribution.

Music Ministry Opportunity We have immediate openings for instrumentalists (drummer, bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, strings, brass, and woodwinds) in our Worship Ministry.
